Privacy policy

Last updated 21 October 2026.

This page explains what information Pick My Trip handles when you use the site.

Things saved on your device

Your wishlist, visited countries and light/dark preference are stored in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them. They never leave your device and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Analytics

We do not currently use any analytics or tracking tools.

Third-party services

To show maps, fonts and exchange rates, your browser requests files from OpenStreetMap (map tiles), unpkg.com (map software) and ExchangeRate-API. These services receive your IP address as part of a normal web request. Booking links take you to third-party sites with their own privacy policies.

Advertising

This site does not currently show adverts. If that changes, this policy will be updated and you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookies are used.

Custom itinerary requests

If you request a custom itinerary, we collect the details you enter in the form — your name, email address, passport nationality, travel dates, who is travelling (including children's ages if you give them), budget, preferences and any notes, which may include health, mobility or dietary needs if you choose to tell us. We use them only to prepare your quote and itinerary and to contact you about it. The lawful basis is taking steps to enter into, and performing, a contract with you; where you share health information, we rely on your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Requests are sent to us by email. We keep request details for up to 12 months after your trip, then delete them, unless we need to keep payment records for longer for tax purposes. We never sell your details or use them for marketing without asking.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you, including any itinerary request. Apart from itinerary requests and the standard server logs kept by our host, Vercel, we do not hold personal data. For questions, contact us via the contact address on our About page. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
